NORWICH – SUNY Morrisville Norwich Campus held its second annual Major Discovery Day on Saturday for approximately 40 high school students in the Liberty Partnership Program and greater Chenango County area.

According to Morrisville Norwich Campus Director Lindsey Lefevre, this event was started last year to encourage high school students to learn more about the majors the college offers and the fields they incompass.

“We feel it is important to highlight the various career pathways available in our community to retain our youth in the workforce,” said Lefevre. “This is the second time we have offered this type of event so students have the chance to gain valuable hands on experience in different fields and majors including nursing, manufacturing, and ag business.”

Liberty Partnerships Program rocks! The program and staff are terrific, and kids get to explore and experience so many things they may not ordinarily have the opportunity to do. Their impact on students is immeasurable. Carry on! Cathy L.
