Lady Blackhawks Pick Up Second Win Of Year With Home Victory; Harpursville Hornets Buzz Past Afton

OXFORD – On just four hits total for the game, Oxford scored one run in the first, three in the second and an additional three runs in the fifth to take their second victory of the season over the Storm from Unadilla Valley Tuesday with a final of 7-2.

The Blackhawks got on the board in the bottom of the first inning when Jessie Howe stole home to score run. Howe reached the base path by hitting a fly ball single to center field.

Tallying three runs in the third, Caitlyn Quigley hit a single to left field on the first pitch of the inning. She scored two batters later when Oralls grounded out to second base.

With two outs in the inning, Oxford brought in another two runs before Unadilla Valley recorded the third out by a ground ball hit to second baseman Mia Stirone.

The Blackhawks added another three runs in the fifth to secure the victory.

The Lady Storm did add a run in the fifth and sixth innings. In the fifth, it was Regan Sabines scoring from second on Kirsten White’s double.

One inning later, Novalee Davis scored on a passed ball. She reached base with a fly ball double to center field.

Allison Beckwith was the winning pitcher, allowing five hits and striking out 17.
