Commerce Chenango recognizes businesses with 100+ years in the community

Commerce Chenango held a special luncheon at Taylor's Country House for businesses in the Chenango County who have been anchored in the community for more than 100 years. Pictured from left to right are: Annette Clarke - Chenango County SPCA, Pam and Drew Phelps - Chenango Union Printing, Melissa DeCordova - Benedict Corporation, Jamie Gaudreau-Moore and Amy Law Preferred Mutual Insurance Company, and Richard Snyder - The Evening Sun, Missing from the photo is Tom Sutton of NBT Bank. There was a total of 75 attendees to this luncheon held on Tuesday, April 12, 2016. Chenango Union Printing has now been in the community for 200 years, followed by NBT Bank with 169 years, The Evening Sun with 125 years, Preferred Mutual Insurance at 120 years, The Benedict Corporation now has 111 years, while The Chenango SPCA has cracked the 100 year mark now with 109 years. Each of the people seen above were awarded a certificate of appreciation from speaker Steve Craig of Commerce Chenango and Patrick McNeil. Craig elected to discuss many topics during the brief session which included: New Members, minimum wage, developing the economy, and tourism in Chenango County. This coming Monday, April 18, there will be an additional Legislative Luncheon where Senator Akshar will be in attendance at Fred's Inn at noon.
