NORWICH – Nearly 30 teams participated in Chenango Memorial Hospital Foundation’s 18th annual golf tournament and picnic, held May 29, at the Canasawacta Country Club and helped raise almost $37,000. The funds will go towards UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital activities.

The private and corporate teams all participated in the day long tournament and picnic that catered to both serious competitors and the casual golfer. Contests like longest drive and closest to the pin were held as well. The four player teams all competed in the 18 hole contest.

The winning team from CZ-USA of Bill Hoosock, Jordan Price, Matt Johnson, and Paul Brunick, shot a 58 to win in a scorecard playoff.

Hole #2 hosted closest to the pin with the winners Virginia Lee and Keith Reynolds. While the longest drive contest was on Hole #6 with Kelley McCarthy and Bill Cole winning the top prize. Most Spirited went to Electron Coil’s team of Matt McAveigh, Scott Nichols, Pat Golliver, and Bob Tefft.

Complements of UHS, a special drawing for a spot in the Dick’s Pro Am was held. Joe Mooney won the prize and will golf with the pros at the Dick Sporting Goods Open this August.
