EDMESTON – A dairy barn was destroyed in the Town of Edmeston during an early Saturday morning blaze, an official said Sunday.

While no injuries were reported in the fire, Edmeston Volunteer Fire Department Chief Art Klingler said the early morning fire at 201 Wharton Creek Road was deemed a total loss.

According to tri-county dispatch records, the fire was first reported at 2:53 a.m. Saturday. Upon arrival of first-responders, Klingler indicated that the structure was fully involved, and that crews remained on the scene until approximately 9 a.m. Sunday morning.

Firefighters were able to contain the blaze to the point of origin, keeping it from advancing to other structures within close proximity to the barn.
