New look, new events at Smyrna Country Store & Deli

SMYRNA – This Sunday, May 4,, one of the biggest jeep forums in Central New York, will stop for lunch at 1 p.m. at the Smyrna Country Store & Deli. The stop is part of the forum's Spring Fling Mud Run, which is an opportunity for the group to drive on seasonal roads and state lands throughout Central New York.

“ is a family oriented off-roading club that believes in having some safe off-roading fun and enjoying the company of those just like you who might understand what the JEEP thing really is,” states the website.

On Sunday the group will drive on seasonal roads near Smyrna and in and around the Brookfield Trail System.

“I'm really looking forward to it because I'm a Jeep lover,” said Bonnie Page, owner of the store.

Both of her sons will participate in the Spring Fling Mud Run. Page expects up to 30 people for lunch and members will be able to order from the standard menu. Anyone is welcome to come for lunch and to see the Jeeps.

Page began renting the store last March and purchased it in October 2013.

“I wanted to keep the store going for the community,” said Page. “It was about to close, that's the reason why I decided to come in and run the store.”
