Tea Party rally tomorrow

NORWICH – Norwich Tea Party Patriots will hold a “Vote for America Rally” this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the East Side Park in downtown Norwich. Featured speakers include Lisa Thrun and Kevin Wilson of Americans for Prosperity. There will be other speakers as well as music, refreshments and information.

The Tea Party Campaign Headquarters on 5 S. Broad St. will be open after the rally. Chairs, signs, and flags welcome. Rain or shine. For questions or information contact Gilda Ward at 764-8303.

Flu/Pneumonia clinic for seniors Tuesday

NORWICH – The Chenango County Health Department and the Chenango County Area Agency on Aging will be holding their annual event – “Extinguish the Flu-Get Your Flu Shot!” – for seniors, age 60 and older on Tuesday from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at the Norwich YMCA.

Extinguish the Flu! will feature flu and pneumonia vaccines, given by Health Department staff, and a variety of displays and screenings on health and related topics. Please bring your old and unused prescription medication for proper disposal. Please NO liquid medications and NO over-the-counter products.

Vaccines are covered by Medicare Part B, no charge (you must bring your card) or age 60+ with no Medicare- $10 per person, cash or check payable to Chenango County Area Agency on Aging.

Pneumonia Vaccine (for those persons 65+) is no charge.

We will not be able to accept Medicare Advantage Plans (such as Today’s Options) as payment. Persons with questions or requiring additional information may contact the Chenango County Health Department at 337-1660.

Benefit to aid child battling brain cancer

SOUTH NEW BERLIN – Grandslam Campgrounds, County Highway 18 in the Town of South New Berlin, will host a benefit for Katie Jennings, beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday and featuring food, music, a Chinese Auction, 50/50 raffle and more.

Katie, the daughter of Tina Brown-Wilson and Barry Barker, continues to fight a courageous battle with brain cancer. For those who cannot attend and would like to help out, the family is still looking for more Chinese Auction items, and monetary donations are appreciated.
