SHERBURNE – The Sherburne Ambulance Committee met recently to plan the next steps in the process of implementing a new municipal-based ambulance service.

The Village of Sherburne decided to make the transition to a a municipal-based ambulance service in February. The transition will allow the department to pursue a revenue recovery system, which they hope will eventually help them to hire part-time help during difficult to cover hours.

Mayor William Acee said the committee met with Village Attorney James Taylor to discuss the process of transitioning to a revenue recovery system.

“We’re in the process of getting the mechanical details worked out,” Acee said. Before the revenue recovery system can be put into place, the village must file paperwork with the state and investigate a billing service.
