NORWICH – Monday in Chenango County Court, an accused rapist stood before Hon. Judge W. Howard Sullivan. Jeffrey M. Randall, 22, was charged with 3rd degree rape. Randall allegedly was involved in a personal relationship with a minor. He is accused of having sexual relations with a now 17-year-old female.

Randall was being held in the Chenango County Correctional Facility on $20,000 bail. The judge released Randall to his parentsl custody, ordering him to have “absolutely no contact” with the alleged victim, said Sullivan. Sullivan ordered Randall to obey his parents completely and that their rules were now his. Randall is to minimize time outside his parents’ residence. Except to go to work, Randall has a 7 p.m. curfew.

The judge also asked the parents to contact the District Attorney’s office if they had any problems, saying, “you won’t be doing him any favors.” Before allowing Randall to leave the judge gave a final warning issued to many who leave the courtroom. “What happens between now and the ultimate disposition of this case will ultimately affect the final disposition of this case,” said Sullivan.
