Edna S. Johnson


Edna S. Johnson, 82, of Classic St. passed away at her home on Sunday, February 11, 2024. She was born on October 21, 1941, in Rock Grove, IL., a daughter of the late Frank L. and Marybell N. (Hitchner) Mueller and received her education in Hamilton Schools. On August 29, 1960, Edna married Franklin J. Johnson in Sherburne.
Edna had worked at Sherwood Medical and later Standard Brands as a supervisor until her retirement. She was the sexton at the Poolville Cemetery for many years, which she cared for along with her husband, Franklin. Edna loved reading, watching sports and was an amazing baker, but most of all, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Edna is survived by her husband of 63 years, Franklin, their children; Franklin, Jr. and Dorenda Johnson of New Berlin, Don and Heidi Johnson of Earlville, Teresa and Thomas Marshall of Tipp City, OH., her sisters; Rosetta Jaquay of Oxford, Lillian Morgan of Lebanon, Geneva and Robert Schultz of Earlville, Mildred and Lynn Doing of Earlville, Laurel and David Jenne, of Sherburne, 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her son, Randy A. Johnson, her sisters, Bertha Mueller, Patricia Miller, Mabel Stagaman and Drusilla “Duke” Losee, brothers; George, Frank, Frederick and Raymond Muller.
A memorial service will be held at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 3 Preston St., Earlville, NY 13332, on Friday, February 16, 2024 at 2pm.
Friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Friday from 1-2 prior to the service, and on Thursday evening from 6-8pm.
Interment will be in the Poolville Cemetery.
