Dennis C. Redenback


Dennis C. Redenback, 78, of Oxford passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 10, 2019, at the Wilson Regional Medical Center.
Dennis was born on February 9, 1941 in Tyner the son of Louis and Verda (Joscelyn) Redenback. He was a 1960 graduate of the Oxford Academy Central School where he was involved with the agriculture program, FFA and 4H activities. Throughout his adult life Dennis was self-employed having operated his own saw mill and operating his farm. He had also worked for the Raymond Co. and driven milk truck. His “signature” was his handlebar mustache which was grown on a bet. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and carpentry.
In 1982 he married Barbara Collier who survives. Besides his wife Barb of Oxford Dennis is survived by his children Daniel Redenback of Alliance, OH, Julie Thompson of Afton, Mary (Edward) Batsford of McDonough, Catherine(Cathy) (John) Murphy of New Berlin, Dawn Tiffany and fiancée Marco Aguirre of Sherburne, Sarah (David) Francis of Norwich, Lisa Redenback and significant other Paul Lashway of Norwich and Brian Redenback of No. Pharsalia, his step-children Debby (Roger) Monk of Plymouth, Sue (Mike) Wyman of St. Joseph, Mich., Pat (Mike) Donnelly of Norwich, Gary Bates of Norwich, Terri (David) Buckman of Bloomfield, Cathy (Steve) Barrows of Oxford, Penny Page of So. Plymouth. Also surviving are his siblings Jean (Leon) Barrows and Leon (Carol) Redenback along with 19 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 14 step grandchildren and 17 step great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.
Dennis was predeceased by his parents Verda and Louis, step father Stanley Spencer, step son Brian Bates and grandchildren Alisha Wallace and Mathew Redenback.
A funeral service for Dennis will be held on Friday at 3:00 pm from the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home. A private interment will be in the Riverview Cemetery of Oxford.
Friends may call at the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home on Friday from 1-3 pm
