OXFORD - April has finally arrived, which means The Oxford Winter Farmers' Market will be celebrating its final indoor Market of the winter season with their Annual Community Seed Giveaway Saturday, April 4, 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Fellowship Hall of the United Church of Oxford, 16 Fort Hill Park (Merchant Street entrance, with parking at the Middle School across the street).

The Market’s Annual Community Seed Giveaway helps to ensure that no seed goes unplanted. In addition to the seeds being shared and given away, supplies and assistance will be available. Many thanks to Jessica Henninge and family for enabling this event to take place. Oxford Girl Scout Troop 30116 will lead Kid Zone activities in which children can plant seeds in potting soil then they can take the potted seeds home and watch their seedlings sprout and grow. Bring your extra seeds if you have them or just come browse through the seeds that others have brought to share. There are always more than enough.

Vendors will be offering early cold hardy plant starts for the garden, local produce; cheeses and other dairy products; eggs; fresh baked breads and cookies; local maple syrup and honey; jams and jellies; and beautiful handmade artisan crafts. As well as a lunch available to eat in or take out made by Daya’s Indian Kitchen, with live music performed by folk fiddler, John Potocnik, and pianist, Kathy Shimberg.
