OXFORD—The Oxford Blackhawks girls' basketball team hosted Deposit-Hancock for a MAC league contest on Monday, where the Blackhawks regrouped quickly after a tough loss to Sidney. Oxford picked up a 20-point 54-34 victory over the Eagles.

Oxford’s dominance was defined by two massive scoring runs: a 9-0 start to the game and an 11-0 surge to open the second half. Deposit-Hancock held their own with strong perimeter shooting and defensive size. However, Oxford’s ability to find a rhythm through their entire rotation allowed them to stay in control.

Paige Rickard was the key piece to the offensive game, where she pushed in all the first seven points as Margaret Rovente helped offensive efforts to follow and excelled defensively in steals and rebounds underneath the basket.

Aubrey Rickard helped the charge and was also an asset to the offensive drive as she fed her sister Paige the ball on long passes to outrun the defense to post buckets.

Aubrey, Paige, Jordan Palmer, Jenna Denz, and even Arielle Ross also found good success at the top of the key for nice three's.

Paige Rickard led the Blackhawks with 15 points, all within the first three quarters.
