BAINBRIDGE – In the 86 years since it was founded, the Chenango County Historical Society (CCHS) has commemorated community heritage, highlighting unique local landmarks and celebrating significant regional milestones. As a tribute to this enduring legacy and  the American Revolution’s 250th anniversary, a sneak preview of Ken Burns’s epic documentary series will be held in collaboration with the CCHS annual membership meeting. The evening will begin  at 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 13 at 15 N. Main St., Bainbridge.

Join CCHS, the Jericho Arts Council, and WSKG for  the launch of America 250 programming in Chenango County withthis first glimpse of “The American Revolution.” An expansive look at the virtues and contradictions of the war and the birth of the United States of America, the documentary series follows dozens of figures from a wide variety of backgrounds. Through their individual stories, viewers experience the war through the memories of the men and women who experienced it.

“We are so grateful to be collaborating with the Jericho Arts Council and WSKG for this unique opportunity,” said Jessica Moquin, CCHS executive director. “This event combines our annual membership meeting with the commemoration of the most defining moment in American history.”

Three years ago, CCHS announced a refreshed and updated membership program, with streamlined categories and expanded core benefits. A selection from seven membership categories offers benefits for two adults at the same address, which extend to all persons 18 or under who reside with adult members.
