MARATHON – The MAC league championship golf tournament was held in Marathon on Tuesday, October 7, featuring local teams such as Oxford, Greene, Bainbridge-Guilford, and UV/GMU in our area.
Congratulations to the Oxford Blackhawks, coached by Lance Thorne and Tim Paden, on winning the 2025 MAC league for the first time in 15 years.
Oxford totaled 447 points to win, ahead of Sidney’s 472 and Delhi’s 477. Senior Bennett Paden earned the top medalist spot of all golfers with a 75. He was also awarded first team all-star for the fourth consecutive year. Degan Endress also earned first team all-star and finished with a 90 on the day.
Blake Barrows, who shot a 85, finished with second team all-star recognition.
Uri Tracy joined Paden, Endress, and Barrows in the top 10 after shooting a 91. Eighth graders Clayton Carlson and Kevin Northup also stepped up for Oxford with Carlson finishing with a 106 and Northup with a 122.
In addition to winning the MAC League Tournament, the Blackhawks also won the MAC League with a 12-2 record. Congratulations on a stellar season!
