GILBERTSVILLE - The 29th annual Major’s Inn Quilt Show will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, October 10 and Saturday, October 11 and on Sunday, October 12 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The theme of this year’s show is “Generations of Quilts.” More than 400 quilts will be fully displayed on the lower level and second floor of the Inn— making this year’s show the largest ever. The featured quilter is Mikela Mehlrose, a Gilbertsville native now living in Rochester.

The Gilbert Block Quilters will display their handiwork in a special exhibit in the second-floor Clock Room. Last year’s featured quilter, Ellen Adams, along with Janet Lent, will give quilting demonstrations. The Gilbert Block Quilters, Susquehanna Valley Quilters and the Triangle Quilt Guild will be raffling quilts from their respective quilting groups.

Lunch will be available in the Major’s Inn dining room beginning at 11 a.m.

The show is sponsored by the Major’s Inn Foundation, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the maintenance and restoration of Gilbertsville’s Tudor-style landmark.

The Inn is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.    All proceeds from the show go toward its restoration.
