AFTON – The Greene Trojans and the Afton/Harpursville Crimson Knights field hockey teams met Friday for a local matchup at Afton. The Crimson Knights came away with a close 2-1 victory.
Both teams matched evenly with nine corners each while Afton/Harpursville outshot Greene 17-9.
Adriana Hartman and Makenna Schultz led the Crimson Knights to victory. Schultz’s goal came on a penalty stroke. Carly Bagg provided an assist in the win.
Josie Dutcher scored for the Trojans in the loss.
Afton/Harpursville’s Emilie Hopkins made seven saves in goal as Braelyn Blakeslee made 10 saves and Mya Leggett-Carlin with four saves for Greene.
Afton/Harpursville heads to Whitney Point tonight at 5 p.m. as Greene heads to Maine-Endwell tonight at 7 p.m.
