NORWICH - A Chenango County grand jury has handed up multiple felony indictments including drug possession and burglary.
The Chenango County District Attorney’s Office recently presented several cases to a grand jury of local citizens and the defendants will appear in county court.
Jared S. Quackenbush was indicted on one count of first-degree criminal contempt, a felony, and one count of second-degree harassment, a misdemeanor. Prosecutors allege Quackenbush violated an active order of protection during an Aug. 26 domestic dispute in Norwich, striking and shoving another person.
Valerie C. Anstey was indicted on two counts of second-degree burglary, both felonies, and one count of third-degree falsely reporting an incident, a misdemeanor. Prosecutors said Anstey unlawfully entered a Greene residence on Aug. 24 and 25 and later filed a false trespass complaint with law enforcement.
Loren A. Wildenstein Jr. was indicted on charges of third-degree burglary and petit larceny. Authorities said Wildenstein entered a building in New Berlin on July 8 and stole property.
Noah R. Cutting was indicted on a charge of fourth-degree grand larceny. Prosecutors allege Cutting stole two large speakers and a stand from the Canasawacta Country Club in Plymouth on Aug. 13. The equipment was valued at more than $1,000.
Zackery V. England faces multiple felony counts, including third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell (fentanyl), fifth-degree possession of methamphetamine, and first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument. Prosecutors said England also attempted to discard fentanyl by throwing it into bushes during a July 23 incident in Norwich.
Shane D. Lum was indicted on felony charges of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and fifth-degree possession of cocaine weighing more than one gram, along with a misdemeanor count of seventh-degree possession of buprenorphine. The charges stem from a June 1 arrest in New Berlin.
Sherri M. Campbell was indicted on a felony charge of failing to register or verify as a sex offender. Prosecutors said Campbell failed to update her address in Norwich within the 10 days required by law.
The defendants are expected to appear in Chenango County Court for arraignments in the near future.
All listed charges are allegations, and named defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
