OXFORD – The Oxford Blackhawks boys’ soccer team celebrated Senior night prior to its MAC league contest with Delhi. Congratulations to seniors Kayden Renfrow, Eddie Golden, and Isaac Utter.
Oxford celebrated its seniors well with a 2-0 shutout victory over its friendly foe opponent from last year’s MAC championship.
Both teams played physical, showing back-and-forth efforts throughout the first half with each goalkeeper making solid plays. After the 0-0 tie at halftime, Gordon Smith broke the game open with a goal off an assist by Joey Locke. From there, Locke and Smith reversed roles as Locke would score minutes later from Smith.
Kayden Renfrow had eight saves on the night in goal and with help from the defense, kept Delhi off the board. Renfrow, Golden, and Utter had a great senior night as the team came through for them with a big win.
Oxford heads to Sidney on Friday at 4:30 p.m.
