Labor Day Rally In Norwich To Support Workers, Public Schools
Published: August 27th, 2025

NORWICH - On Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 1, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on East and West Parks in Norwich, Chenango Change Indivisible and Chenango 50501 will stand in solidarity with workers across the nation, fighting for health care over hedge funds, shared prosperity over billionaire-bought politics, and the rights and freedoms that ensure access to opportunity and a better life for all Americans.

The billionaires’ time is up. Bring your voices and signs to join others who share your concerns.

Because billionaires continue to avoid paying their fair share in taxes, contributing to underfunded public schools, the event will also include a school supply drive to support local classrooms.

Suggested donations include: Elmer’s glue sticks, colored pencils, Crayola 24-pack crayons (as cheaper brands are mostly wax), thin Expo dry erase markers, Ticonderoga No. 2 pencils (which are more durable than cheaper alternatives), water bottles, backpacks, plastic folders with bottom pockets, highlighters, pencil boxes, cap or block erasers, pens, pencil sharpeners, one-subject notebooks, dividers, 1-inch or 1.5-inch binders, filler paper, disinfectant wipes, tissues, and zip-close plastic bags.

Supplies can also be dropped off at the Paperback Book Exchange, located at 17-19 S. Broad St., Norwich
