NORWICH - The Norwich City Band will be starting its summer concert season at East Park in June with rehearsals at 6:30 p.m. on the 13, 20 and 27.

Friday evening concerts will start at 7 p.m. beginning July 11 and ending on August 15.

Musicians from high school and older are invited to play with the band. Musicians will need to bring their own music stands, instruments and clothespins. Music will be provided. Chairs needed for musicians will be provided by the city.

Other concerts include: Dairy Day at the Chenango County Fairgrounds on June 21 at 10 a.m., Pathfinder Village in Edmeston on July 13 at 3 p.m., Vet's Home in Oxford on July 27 at 2 p.m. and the Chenango County Fair on August 9.

Musicians will receive a $20 stipend for each rehearsal and/or concert that they take part in at East Park, along with a payment for each additional concert they choose to play in.

Concerts will be conducted by Gary Solomon. The Norwich City Band looks forward to seeing a good turnout at its summer concerts.
