OXFORD — The Oxford Memorial Library, located at 8 Fort Hill Park in Oxford, will be hosting a plant swap event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 24.
Individuals are invited to bring houseplants, perennials, and seeds to swap with other plant lovers.
"It can be any type of plant. If you are weeding down your houseplant collection because they’re taking over the windows, or if you need to make some room in the flowerbeds outside, you can bring anything. Or if you started too many plants for the vegetable garden you can bring extras of those. Whatever people have," explained Oxford Memorial Library Director Gillian Mulder.
She said there will be tables set up at the library for people to leave any plants or seeds they'd like to contribute to the swap, and they can also take any plants they'd like.
"If you have a plant at home or a cutting of a houseplant or something, or seeds even, you can come down to the library and we have tables set up so you can bring what you brought, leave it on the table, and then people will bring other plants from their home and you can kind of switch it out," said Mulder. "You don’t have to do a direct trade to the person, you just collect everything in one area and people leave what they want to and take something new home."
