CHENANGO COUNTY - The United Way of Mid Rural New York has finished its fall 2023 fundraising campaign in February. It is in the process of allocating those campaign dollars to local community programs in need of funding.

The fall campaign raised $352,296 for Chenango County, missing its goal of $425,000. “This was an exciting year for the United Way, as we began to meet new people and expand our reach across our new counties”, said Elizabeth Monaco, Executive Director. “I’m excited to see what the future holds and how we can make a difference for the families of this community.”

The regional goal for the United Way of Mid Rural New York was $600,000 and the organization raised just over $521,000, or 86% of that goal. The regional United Way now covers Chenango, Madison, Otsego and Delaware Counties after merging the four counties in early 2023. “I think our campaign did very well for it’s first year as a multi-county United Way campaign. Our donors have supported us through our changes and have embraced the idea of regionalization. Per capita giving was up this year and I think next year we will do even better!”, said Monaco.
