NORWICH – The Lt. Warren E. Eaton American Legion, Post 189, hosted Memorial Day services in Norwich's West Park, in front of the Chenango County Court House and WWII monument on Monday.

This year's guest speaker was City of Norwich Police Chief Reuben J. Roach. A presentation honored deceased US military service members, veterans, law enforcement, and first responders. There was a firearms salute and a playing of the Echo Taps.

Following the Memorial Day services, the Honor Guards from the American Legion and VFW Posts conducted military services at the Mount Hope and St. Paul's Cemeteries for veterans buried there. A floating wreath was placed in the Canasawacta Creek, in memory of those lost at sea. (Photos by Tyler Murphy)
