CHENANGO COUNTY — The Breastfeeding Partners of Chenango County Coalition would like to recognize businesses and agencies in our local community who support the efforts of breastfeeding families. This can be your employer, a store, or a business that made you feel welcome and supported.

On August 3, 2026, during World Breastfeeding Week, Breastfeeding Partners of Chenango County Coalition will present an award to one local business, during the Step Up to Breastfeeding event in East Park in Norwich, NY. The event is a community resource fair sponsored by the CAPCO WIC Program.

A Breastfeeding-friendly workplace is one that has accommodations to support breastfeeding mothers. This can be as simple as allowing employees to have flexible breaks and access to a private room for nursing or pumping. Breastfeeding-friendly is the law. Businesses are required to provide hourly workers with time and space to pump or breastfeed during the workday.
