Published: April 25th, 2023

SHERBURNE — The 2023 Sherburne Arts Festival is gearing up. As it has every year, the festival will be held in Sherburne’s Gaines Park on the second Saturday of June.

Beginning at 10 a.m. on June 10, the festival will showcase the work of regional artists and featuring works of art in many areas, including photography, watercolor, oil paintings, glass work, jewelry, woodwork, hand-made soaps, lavender products, pet products, illustrations, metal work, ceramics and pottery, and so much more.

DJ Mike McCann will be back with music, and as a special treat for the kids, Ron Cain will return with his fabulous balloon animals.

Story Continues Below Adverts

This year’s show will honor Smyrna photographer Lee Ingraham as the featured artist – don’t forget to pay him a visit in the featured artist tent. There will also be an interactive children’s art tent, exhibitions from SECS students judged by Sherburne’s own Julian Button, a ticket auction, special raffles, festival food, Piemania, and, of course, area artists selling their work.

Raffles and a ticket auction will be ongoing throughout the day, with dozens of gift baskets donated by local businesses and residents. All proceeds will benefit the Sherburne Arts Festival.

The festival is a revival of the original art show begun in 1947 by local artist Mariea Brown, and is being sponsored by Save The Sherburne Inn Restoration Project and the Herbert H. and Mariea L. Brown Charitable Trust.

There’s still room for more artists and crafters (the park is a big place!). Interested vendors should email Jane Jones at jajones@twcny.rr.com for jury review information. For more information, email sherburneartshow@aol.com.
