CHENANGO FORKS – Winding down the end of the 2022-2023 season, the Norwich Purple Tornado boys basketball team have had their ups and downs in many challenging games. They fell to Chenango Forks for the second time this year in a 61-46 deficit on the road.

Norwich had a slow start in the first half as the offense was held to just two points in the first quarter. As they tried to catch up in the second quarter, Norwich could not stop Forks from posting 22 points to take a 35-16 lead at halftime.

Norwich played a much better second half with coming out with 17 points in the third quarter, but Forks remained consistent and held on to the dominant lead from the first half.

Norwich’s Steven Dowdall led the team with 19 points while Jerell Stokes had seven points. Wyatt Thornton hit two three’s to finish with six points in the loss.

Norwich is currently 6-12 on the season and have two remaining regular season games, including their next game at Vestal on Saturday. The game will start at 12:45 p.m.
