OXFORD — With only two weeks left in the Oxford Farmers’ Market’s official summer season, now is the time to stock up on all the delicious and nutritious goodies to be found there, all of them straight from a local source and the skilled hands of your neighbors.
The Market is open 9 a.m. to noon on Lafayette Park. The John Truth Experience will be performing in the Bandstand starting at 10 a.m. and the Art Table will be open for the creatives among us.
There’s something about knowing where our food comes, being connected to the source of our nourishment, that is pretty magical.
This week, in addition to gorgeous fresh fruits and vegetables, vendors will also have beautiful mushrooms; locally raised and processed beef, pork, lamb and chicken; gorgeous cut flowers and potted plants; chicken, duck and turkey eggs; local cheeses; breads and other fresh baked goods; fudges, salsas and jams; maple syrup and honey; prepared hot foods to eat at the Community Table or take home, hand-made healthy treats for dogs; hand-made soaps, lotions and balms; and exquisite hand-crafted items.
