Published: March 16th, 2022

NEW YORK — Cornell Cooperative Extension offices of Broome, Cayuga, Chenango, Cortland, Madison, Onondaga and Tioga Counties are proud to announce the start of the CNY 4-H Livestock Rodeo Series. The Rodeo Series will educate youth about raising, preparing and showing livestock animals including goats, sheep, beef, rabbits, poultry and swine.

This year, the focus will be placed on meat goats, sheep, and beef. Each session will have experts and staff present to guide youth through hands-on activities to help prepare them for the upcoming show season. Each youth will learn to prep their animal for show and learn about showmanship. The day will conclude with a showmanship contest. All youth will leave with a tool to prepare them for show season!

The sheep and meat goat event will be held on Saturday, April 30 beginning at 1 p.m. This will be hosted at the Broome County Fairgrounds in Whitney Point, NY. The beef event will be held on Saturday, June 4 beginning at 10 a.m. This will be hosted at the Cortland County Fairgrounds in Cortland, NY.
