OXFORD – The Oxford Memorial Library has another mini Barn Quilt Craft program coming up on Saturday, February 5, 10 a.m. to1 p.m. This time we are featuring Valentine’s Day. Each participant will receive 2 4’x4’ plywood squares. This program is free. Call the library at 607-843-6146 to register. These programs have been very popular so be sure to sign up soon.

Thursday, February 3 at 6 p.m. we will be presenting our annual Bird Feeder craft and program for kids of all ages but this year with a different twist. You won’t want to miss this really fun craft.

We will be hosting Family Game Night on Thursday, January 20 and February 17, 5:30-8:00pm. There will be a variety of board games, card games, old games, new games or bring one of your own. Our community room is a great place for families to get together and play games as we have great tables and chairs for game playing.

February is traditionally the month that we have a program to make bird feeders. This year I think Jess, our Youth Service Coordinator has something slightly different than the traditional feeder in mind. Watch for this upcoming program.

We also have a book discussion club. The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and The Rose Code by Kate Quinn are the current selections. You can order your copy on line through the Four County Library System or call us at the library to place a hold for you. Watch for the date and time of our next meeting on Oxford Memorial Library Youth Service on Face Book.

Did you know that we have a branch library? The McDonough Branch Library, 115 County Road 7 in McDonough is our branch library. Housed in the former Calvary Episcopal Church this small library in addition to its own collection as well as a special rotating collection from the Oxford Memorial Library has the same perks as any other library due to the ability of patrons being able to place holds for items at other libraries and have them delivered to the McDonough Branch Library. The library also has public access computers and wi-fi access, copier and FAX. The hours are Thursdays 1:00-3:00 and Saturdays 9:30-12:00. The McDonough Branch is probably one of McDonough’s best kept secrets.
