NEW BERLIN — Preferred Mutual Insurance Company employees joined Chenango County Habitat for Humanity on Monday, September 14 to support the renovation of a home located at 12 Railroad Street in New Berlin, contributing 62.75 volunteer hours toward the project.

Eleven Preferred Mutual employees spent the day working on projects throughout the home and property. Volunteers completed demolition work, built a new entry stoop, cleared and organized materials in the home and garage, assisted with ceiling work, and tackled yard work and other projects to help move the renovation forward. Preferred Mutual also presented a donation to Chenango County Habitat for Humanity in support of the organization’s work in the community.

“We are grateful to Habitat for Humanity for giving our team the opportunity to come together and make a meaningful difference in our community,” said Robin Martin, Community Engagement Specialist with Preferred Mutual Insurance Company. “Giving back is more than an activity for us. It’s who we are and a commitment we make to the communities we serve.”

“It was wonderful to have the Preferred Mutual team join us for the day,” said Christine Oliver, volunteer with Chenango County Habitat for Humanity. “They jumped right in and helped with a variety of projects throughout the home and property. Community support and volunteerism are so important to the work we do, and we’re grateful for the time and effort they contributed.”
