Norwich Cyclones Welcome Back Fans For 2021 Season

NORWICH - With the Cyclone season canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic, Cyclones are back in action for the 2021 season.

After being part of the Tri-Valley Pop Warner League for 40-plus years, the Cyclones football program has joined the Southern Tier Youth Football Conference (STYFC).

There are three levels of play in the STYFC:  FLAG(1st/2nd Grade), B team(3rd/4th Grade) and A Team(5th/6th Grade), along with cheerleading for all of the levels. The Cyclones kicked the season off the last week in August when they hosted Montrose.

The Flag team came up just short losing 36-30.  B Team won 28-7 and A Team won 31-0.

The Cyclones traveled to Chenango Forks the following weekend winning two out of three games once again. Flag won 28-20, B Team faced Susquehanna Valley and lost a close game 14-13. A Team went on to win big 34-0.

The Cyclones traveled to Binghamton this past Sunday, Sept. 12 to face the Patriots. All three teams were successful. FLAG won 46-34, B Team on top 50-6 and A Team won 48-0. Cyclones coaches are glad the season is in full swing. Fans are in full support and it is great to see fans in the stands.

Cyclones will be hosting Maine-Endwell this upcoming Sunday, Sept. 19. Games are being played at the Norwich High School football field. Please come and support the Norwich Youth Football and Cheerleading programs.

Games times are Flag at 12 p.m.; B Team at 1:30 p.m., and A team at 3:30 p.m.
