NEW BERLIN – A man was arrested on a bench warrant out of the Chenango County Court following a year long investigation into a fire and grand jury presentation which occurred last Monday.

According to Chenango County Sheriff Ernest Cutting, the investigation into Kenneth R. Fink, 35, of New Berlin began on March 1, 2020, when the Chenango County 911 Center received a call of a structure fire located at 4322 State Highway 80 in the Town of Columbus.

“Numerous local fire departments arrived on scene and located a fire in the basement of the residence,” said Cutting. “The Chenango County Bureau of Fire responded to the scene and Fire Investigators determined the fire to be suspicious and requested assistance from the Chenango County Sheriff's Office.”
