NEW BERLIN – A Little Falls woman involved in a fatal car accident in August of 2020 is now facing felony charges after police said she had a blood alcohol content of .23 percent at the time of the accident.

According to New York State Police Troop C Public Information Officer Aga Dembinska, on January 28, 2021, Kerri L. Bunnelle, 31, of Little Falls was charged with second-degree vehicular manslaughter, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, and aggravated driving while intoxicated.

“Bunnelle was the driver of a GMC Envoy that crossed over into on-coming traffic on August 4, 2020 on State Highway 8 in the Town of New Berlin,” said Dembinska. “She struck a Ford Focus head-on that was being driven by Mathew R. Fredericks, age 43 of Herkimer, NY.”

“Mr. Fredericks did not survive the crash.”
