NORWICH – On Wednesday, Athletic Coordinator for Norwich City School District Rich Turnbull discussed the reopening of school sports and a drop in participation on the modified level with the school's Board of Education.

"Last time I was here I talked about participation. I don't know if Dr. Bowers has shared the numbers with you yet. At the JV and varsity level our numbers seem pretty good, we are a little concerned with modified," said Turnbull. "Dr. Bowers and I have talked about that, how we can do some recruitment, maybe put some caps on some teams so we're not running a team with just three kids and a coach."

Turnbull said one of the big things he is doing is implementing the use of social media as a way to get students interested.
