NORWICH – After receiving news that their local Peebles store may be closing down, members of the community travelled to the store and signed a petition asking the company to reconsider.

The organizer of the petition signing event, Todd Meseck, said approximately 240 individuals signed the petition asking Stage Stores to keep the store open.

"The majority of the people who signed the petition were long-time shoppers," said Meseck. "Mostly the reaction people had was they were shocked the company would close our location."
