Ann Andrews


NORWICH – Ann B. Andrews, 88, formerly of Norwich and Sherburne, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2007 at the New York State Veterans’ Home in Oxford.
Born June 18, 1919 in Worcester, Mass., Ann was the daughter of Patrick and Mary (Walsh) Ryan.  She graduated from Worcester High School and then received her Registered Nursing degree from Worcester City Hospital.  Ann began her career in Worcester and on Nov. 9, 1946 married John B. Andrews, passed away in May of 1982.  Ann continued nursing at Mary McClellan Hospital in Cambridge, before moving to Norwich and working for Dr. Jacobi, Valley View Nursing Home and finally at the Veterans’ Home in Oxford, where she was a trainer and charge nurse.  She retired in 1985.
Ann was a member of St. Bartholomew’s Church.
She is survived by two sons, Nicholas W. Andrews and his wife, Betty Ann, and Timothy K. Andrews and his wife, Eileen, all of Norwich; two daughters and their husbands, Jacklyn and Robert Jones of Canandaigua and Kimberly J. and Timothy Santiago of Wells; 15 grandchildren, Sarah, Ian, Meghann, Melissa, Emily, Bethany, Colin, Becky, Matthew, Andrew, Cassie, Nick, Haley, Noah and Jayden; and nine great grandchildren, Ethan, Zoe, Emma, Madeline, Sophia, Ben, Owen, Nicholas and Ella.
Funeral services for Ann will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Bartholomew’s Church. Friends are invited to call at the church on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will take place in St. Paul’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Ann may be made to Hospice of Chenango County, 21 Hayes St., Norwich, NY  13815 or to the charity of your choice.
