Charles Ryberg


EARLVILLE – Charles Frederick Ryberg, 79, of Manassas Park, Va., formerly of Earlville, passed away Tuesday morning, July 11, 2006 in the Prince William Hospital, Manassas, Va.
Born in East McDonough on July 7, 1927, Charles was the son of Paul and Irene Ryberg Sr. Charles grew up in East McDonough and graduated from Oxford Academy Central High School Class of 1944. Upon graduation, he completed lineman school for the New York State Electric & Gas Co. where he worked as a power lineman for 13 years. He was also trained and schooled as an electrician. He then worked as a salesman for a variety of companies, predominantly specializing in annuity and insurance work. In 1948, he married the former Barbara Anne Nightengale. They lived in Earlville where they raised their children. Charles helped establish and was an active member of the Earlville Assembly of God Church, Earlville. He was also very active in the Gideon International Organization, devoted to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This was the mark of his life as he was known as a loving man of God, an adoring husband and father; always kind, generous and known for his cheerful smile and joyful manner.
Charles is survived by his wife, Barbara; his children, Sigrid Ryberg of Centreville, Va., David and his wife Sharon of Shermansdale, Pa.; grandson, Erik Ryberg and wife Dianne and great-grandchildren, Kristen and Garron; a brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Hazel Ryberg of Earlville.
Two brothers, Kenneth and Virgil Ryberg, predeceased him.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 3 Preston Street, Earlville. Interment will be in the Earlville Cemetery, Earlville. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Saturday from noon until 2 p.m. prior to the service.
