RUTH COOKHOUSE
CINCINNATUS – Ruth C. Cookhouse, 79, of Manlius, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 11, 2007 at University Hospital. Born in Syracuse, she attended  Syracuse schools. Affectionately known as “Ma,” Ruth made her life as a homemaker, caring for her seven children. She loved gardening her flowers and vegetables.
 Survivors: four daughters, Rose (Earl) Combes of Cincinnatus, Clare Saunders of Liverpool, Arlene Cookhouse of Manlius, and FayeAnn Cookhouse (Thomas Ryan) of Fayetteville; three sons, Clinton Cookhouse, Jr. of Syracuse, Joseph (Kitt) Cookhouse of Cazenovia, and Peter (Lynn Hale) of Fabius; two sisters, Norma Mills of North Syracuse and Rosemary Rioux of Florida; 13 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Clinton Cookhouse, Sr., on Feb. 28, 1994.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Newell-Fay Funeral Home. Burial to follow in Manlius Village Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home, 8171 Cazenovia Rd. (Rt. 92), Manlius.
