SHERBURNE – Adell Murdock (Parren) Gow, 96, formerly of Sherburne, passed away Saturday, Nov. 10, 2007 at the New York State Veterans’ Home, Oxford.
She was born April 5, 1911 in Hartwick the daughter of the late Howard and Grace (Hotaling) Murdock. Adell graduated from Hartwick High School and Cobleskill College. She was married to Michael M. Parren. Many years later on Nov.11, 1980 in Oneonta, she married Windsor Gow. The couple made their home in Sherburne and spent winters in Panama City, FL.  Mr. Gow predeceased her on April 17, 1996.  Adell was employed by Bendix Electrical Components, Sidney, for over 25 years until her retirement.  She was previously a governess for 10 years, for several families. She was of the Baptist Faith and a former 4-H leader in Oneonta.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law Leonard and Patricia Parren of Sidney; step-children Sandra and Les Harvey of Galax, Va.; George and Nancy Gow of Richmond, Kent.; Richard and Mary Jane Gow of Rochester; Melvin and Eileen Gow of Ridge; a sister-in-law Eva Murdock of Hartwick; grandchildren, Nicole Parren of China, Karri Parren of Bowman, S.C.; step-grandchildren Travis and Josh Harvey and Erin and Lauren Gow. Also surviving is her great-granddaughter Elizabeth Parren, and two step-great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her brother Henry Murdock.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home 10 S. Main St. Sherburne, followed by interment in West Hill Cemetery, Sherburne.
Friends are invited to call Wednesday from noon to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
