Steven Benjamin


OXFORD – Steven Murry Benjamin passed away unexpectedly on Nov. 6, 2007 at his home. He was born on Nov. 10, 1962 in Norwich, the son of Kenneth Benjamin and Barbara Hoag Benjamin George.
He is survived by his father and step mother, Kenneth and Sharon Benjamin, Sr. of Oxford; his mother, Barbara George of Binghamton; his daughter Chelsea Rae Benjamin of Tiverton, Rhode Island; his brothers, Kenneth and Lana Benjamin, Jr. of Oxford, Jonathan Benjamin of Oxford, Michael and Lori Benjamin of Hurley, David Benjamin of Long Beach, Calif., and Christopher and Rachael Benjamin of Seaford, Del.; his sister, Merri and Michael Hayes of Vestal; his step sisters, Cindy Christian of Superior, Wisc. and Sandra Christian of New York; and his grandfather, Robert Beardsley of Norwich.  He was predeceased by his sister, Mishell Benjamin.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Steve was a faithful employee of the Town of Manlius for 13 years. He was a loving father and helpful neighbor. Before his illness he enjoyed working out in the gym and taking care of his home and yard.
Funeral services were held on Monday at the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford with the Rev. Allen C. Lang, pastor of the United Church of Oxford officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Oxford.
