Jeanette Christophersen


PRESTON – Jeanette Christophersen, 40, of Tamarack Road, Preston, life-long Norwich area resident, went to be with her Lord on July 10, 2006, at home, with her family at her side, after battling cancer.
Born Sept. 17, 1965, in Norwich, Jeanette was the daughter of Jack and Sylvia (Franklin) LoVette. She grew up in Norwich, attending the Norwich schools. Following her graduation, she was employed by A&P as a cashier and then promoted to bakery manager for 17 years. For the last 6 1/2 years, Jeanette was employed in the food service area at NBT in Norwich. Jeanette loved her family and enjoyed participating in her sons’ sports activities. She was extremely proud of her sons, Isaiah and Dustin. She enjoyed the tailgate parties after the football games so she could visit with all the kids. Her other interests included gardening, camping and fishing. Jeanette had a great compassion for others, even during her sickness, and was always concerned about others.
Jeanette is the beloved wife of 22 years to Peter Christophersen of Preston, and the devoted mother to her two sons, Isaiah Douglas and Dustin Edward Christophersen. She is also survived by her parents. Jack and Sylvia LoVette, and her brother, Michael LoVette, all of Norwich; by aunts and uncles: Rose Marie Franklin and Howard and Cheryl Franklin, all of Norwich; Florence and Eddie Gee of Beaver Dams, Harry and Donna LoVette of Genoa, and Jane and Richard LaTourette of Oxford; by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Barry and Kathy Christophersen, Norwich, Sue and Red Boise, Norwich, Dennis and Diane Christophersen of Nebraska, Warren and Cindy Christophersen of Nebraska, Tim Christophersen, Norwich; Alan Christophersen, Norwich, and Roy Christophersen and companion Robin of Mt. Upton; and by sisters-in-law and brothers- in-law: Karen Thompson and companion Louie Ives, Norwich, Judy Henchey of Michigan, Lisa and Glen Abbey, Desi and Shane Gladin of Georgia, Pamela and Bob Kell of New Mexico, Brenda and Kenneth Enfield of Albany, and Patty and Bill Castaldy of Oxford. Many nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews, as well as many friends, also survive. Jeanette was predeceased by her brother, Malcolm LoVette.
Funeral services for Jeanette will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday from the Bible Baptist Church. The Rev. Ralph Hinman, pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in J.D. Lewis Cemetery of Preston. Friends are invited to call at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m.
