Lucy Davis


NORWICH – Lucy Davis, 79, of Beebe Ave., Norwich, passed away Wednesday morning, Oct. 31, 2007 at her home.
Born in Westminster, Md., in August of 1928, Lucy was the daughter of Paul and Blanche (Aldrich) Owens. In 1937 she moved with her family to the Plymouth area, where the family ran a farm at Stewart’s Corners. Following her graduation from Norwich High School and SUNY Oneonta, Lucy taught school at Perry Browne School for 22 years, retiring in 1983. She was a member of the NYSRTA.
On Oct. 24, 1949, Lucy married Gerald Davis, who survives. She is also survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Peggy and Roy Heath of Asheville, N.C.; Diane and Max Pritschow of Papillion, Neb.; and Lynda and John Saady of San Antonio, Texas; her brothers and sisters-in-law: Paul and Mary Owens of Butler, Pa.; and David and Charlotte Owens of Grafton, Va.; and her sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Roland English of Catonsville, Md.; and by her grandchildren: Holly Moore, Daniel and Sarah Pritschow, and Nicholas Myers. Lucy was predeceased by her brother, John Owens.
A memorial service for Lucy will be held at 11 a.m. Monday from the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jeff Hale, pastor of the Broad Street United Methodist Church, officiating. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be in the South Side Cemetery of Plymouth.
