SOUTH NEW BERLIN – Preston Whipple of South New Berlin, and former longtime Liberty resident, died Friday, Oct. 19, 2007 at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Johnson City. He was 73.
He was born in Liberty on May 11, 1934 to the late Lawrence and Matilda Liber Whipple.
He served in the U.S. Navy, and was formerly married to Helen Whipple, and was also an Auctioneer for the White Wolf Auction in New Berlin for 15 years.
He is survived by two sons; Lawrence and wife Patricia of Loch Sheldrake, Michael and wife Teia of Neversink, three daughters; Ann Marie Hicks and husband Larry of Neversink, Terry Whipple of Neversink, Laura Pomerance of Neversink, a long time companion Betty Lou Viningre and 10 grandchildren.
There will be no visitation. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Ramsay’s Funeral Homes, Inc. 275 South Main Street Liberty. Rev. Carl Caskey will officiate.
Burial will follow the service at Rural Cemetery, Route 55 Grahamsville.
