Diane Sharki


NORWICH – Diane E. Sharki, 67, Sunset Drive, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2007 at Chenango Memorial Hospital, Norwich.
She was born in Ogdensburg on Nov. 4, 1939. She was a graduate of Ogdensburg Free Academy and then received her certification as a dental assistant. On June 21, 1991, Diane was married to Anthony S. Sharki, who predeceased her on April 18, 2005. She had previously been married to Harris Brown.
Diane had been a sales associate at Goldberg’s, Fleishman’s and Dunk & Bright furniture stores. Later, she was a corrections office at the Onondaga County Correctional Facility for several years, a dental hygienist, and most recently worked for Empire Vision Center in Syracuse until her retirement.
Diane was of the Catholic faith. She loved spending time with her family and her canine companions. Her favorite hobby was interior decorating and she enjoyed traveling the southern tier to view the scenic landscapes.
Surviving are her children, Kraig Brown and Debra Davis, both of Norwich; Basil Brown of Pulaski and Kimberly Brown of Ogdensburg; her step-children, Martin and Julie Sharki of Norwich, Christine and Thad Parton of Pittsboro, N.C.; a brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Josie Shank of Rochester; grandchildren Jason, Shannon and Kelly; a step-granddaughter, Dawn; two great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by an infant sister, Sandy.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 South Main St., Sherburne. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in the Notre Dame Cemetery, Ogdensburg. There will be no calling hours.
