NEW BERLIN – Franklin James Phillips, 50, of New Berlin, passed away on Mon., Oct. 8, 2007, in the Valley View Manor Nursing Home of Norwich, where he had resided for the past few weeks.
Born in Erieville in April of 1957, Franklin was the son of Lynn and Roberta (Rounds) Phillips. Injured at the young age of 2 years, he had never attended school nor been employed.
Franklin is survived by his mother and step-father, Roberta and Roger Shedd of Smyrna; and by his sisters and brother: Roselyn Gardner of Sherburne, and Anna and Mark F. Chesebro and Matthew Shedd Jr., all of Smyrna. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews: Shawn Gardner of North Carolina, Sarah Chesebro of Maryland; Mark Lynn Chesebro, Matthew Shedd Jr., Nicole Shedd, Hailey Shedd, and Howard Shedd, all of Smyrna; and by his aunts and uncles: Charles and Helen Rounds of Oneida, Pearl and Mike Buckle, Florida, Lucy Lake, Sherburne, Robert and Eleanor Rounds, Norwich, Rhoda Parks and Linda Roads, McDonough, Fran Beckwith, Norwich, Gary and June Rounds, Otselic, Carol Jensen, Norwich, Steve and Ruth Rounds, McDonough, Bonnie Loughren, Oxford, Ben and Molly Rounds, Norwich, Dianne and David Dunckel, Preston; Lester and Tiny Phillips and Ruth Phillips.
Franklin was predeceased by his father, Lynn Phillips; his nephew, Paul Lynn Gardner; uncles and aunts. Bill and Mary Rounds, Mary and Mark Phillips, Joel and Anna Mary Phillips, and Fred Phillips; and his grandparents, James and Evelyn Rounds, Mary Phillips, and William Lamb.
Funeral services for Franklin were to be held at noon Friday from the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. Jeremy Stopford of Norwich will officiate.
Interment will follow in Willcox Cemetery of Smyrna. Friends were invited to call at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home on Friday from 10 a.m. until the service at noon.
