Beth Osborne


SYLVAN BEACH – Beth Marie Osborne, 63, of 7th Avenue Sylvan Beach, passed away peacefully at her home on Oct. 4, 2007.
Beth was born in Norwich in August of 1944, daughter of Irving Edward and Elizabeth Eleanor Moran Beckwith. She grew up in Brisben and graduated from Greene Central Schools. On Dec. 30, 1969, she married Michael James Osborne. The couple resided in South New Berlin for over 20 years before retiring to their home on Oneida Lake.
Beth was employed for a number of years with Togs Manufacturing as well as Victory Markets. Beth was a member of the American Legion Post #1153 of Sylvan Beach. She came to love life on the lake, and enjoyed local music, and celebrations. She devoted her life to caring for her family, especially her sons.
Beth is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Dawn Osborne, and her son Brian Osborne and his fiancee Sarah Short; two brothers, Francis Beckwith and Patrick Beckwith,; and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her beloved Jack Russell Terrier, Max; his best friend Todd Dryer, and a large extended family of friends from “The Beach.” Beth is predeceased by her parents, her husband Mike, sister Theresa Ann, and brothers Mike and George Beckwith.
Beth’s family would like to thank the staff of the Rome Office Hematology Oncology Associates of Central New York for their unending support.
By Beth’s wishes, there will be no services. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at Mount Hope Cemetery in Norwich. In lieu of flowers, donations in Beth’s memory may be made to American Legion Post #1153 of Sylvan Beach, or the Chenango County SPCA.
Arrangements are by the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home.
