NORWICH – Juan C. Rivera, 82, of Norwich, passed away at his home on Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 19, 2007.
Born in Puerto Rico in June of 1925, Juan was the son of Andre and Maria (Caban) Rivera. He spent many of his early years in Suffern, and was a 15-year employee of the Ford Motor Company in Mahwah, N.J., where he worked in the maintenance department. A family man at heart, Juan will be remembered by his big smile and his even bigger heart. He had been a resident of Norwich for the past 26 years.
Juan is survived by his wife, Joan Summers Rivera of Norwich; by his children: Deborah McDonnell of Middletown, Juan Rivera of Chester, Maria Leiedakis of Middletown, and Donna Iorio of Mt. Hope; and by nine grandchildren.
At Juan’s request, there will be no formal funeral service nor calling hours.
Juan’s family would like to acknowledge and thank Hospice for all their help and support during his illness, and to request that memorial contributions be sent to Hospice and Palliative Care of Chenango County, 21 Hayes St., Norwich, NY 13815.
