Mildred Hazel Hall


NORWICH – Mildred Hazel Hall, 87, former long-time resident of Springvale Road, Norwich, passed away Friday morning, Sept. 7, 2007, in the Gilmour Health Care Facility.
Born in Aug. of 1920 in Coventryville, Hazel was the daughter of George and Edith (Ingersoll) Cummings. Growing up on the family farm in Coventryville, she was active in the 4-H program. Hazel attended and graduated from the Oxford Schools, then did housework in several Norwich homes before taking a job with Norwich Dry Cleaning. She subsequently went to work for Victory Markets where, for a period of 38 years, she worked as a office and accounting clerk. In 1983, following her retirement from Victory Markets, Hazel remained in the Norwich area. A person never to be idle, she had at one time been involved with the Holmesville Baptist Church. In June of 1946, Hazel married Cyril A. Hall, who passed away in 1963.
Hazel is survivied by her step-daughter, Lois Adams and her husband Larry of Phoenix, Ariz. and several step grandchildren. Several cousins also survive.
Graveside services for Hazel will be held at 11 a.m. Friday from the Mt. Hope Cemetery of Norwich. The Rev. Brian Conover, pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church of Norwich, will officiate. Pastor Romeyn Kipp, pastor of the Holmesville Baptist Church, will offer the eulogy, and Richard E. Adams will offer comments on behalf of the Adams and Sabin families. There will be no calling hours.
Arrangements are by the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home.
