NORWICH – Jeanne E. Hamilton of Norwich passed away at her home on Tuesday, July 4, 2006.
 Born Dec. 22, 1930 in Rochester, Jeanne was the daughter of Sumner (Jack) Hamilton and Beatrice Eymer Hamilton.  Jeanne was a lifelong resident of Norwich, graduating from Norwich High School in 1948.  After attending Albany College, she taught math in the area secondary schools until 1959, when she received an MA in secondary school guidance.  She then worked as a guidance counselor in the Norwich High School until her retirement in 1976. 
 Jeanne is survived by her sister, Jacquelyn Taylor and her husband Donald of Binghamton; two brothers, J. Rennie ‘J. R.’ Hamilton and his wife Mary, and Jon H. Hamilton, both of Norwich; one niece, Leslie Goida of Windham, N.H.; six nephews, Kevin Taylor of Atlanta, Ga., Gregory Taylor of Sarasota, Fla., Steven Taylor of Binghamton, Steven Hamilton of Norwich, Michael Hamilton of Syracuse, and Robert Hamilton of El Cerrito, Calif.
 Contributions in Jeanne’s memory may be made to the Chenango County SPCA, 6160 Co. Rd. 32, Norwich.
 A memorial service for Jeanne will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the United Church of Christ, First Congregational, with Rev. Joseph Connolly officiating.  Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
